Dragon’s Lair Diplomat is 2022 Welsh Cob colt by Dragon’s Lair Dynamic out of Madoc Desert Rose. “Danny” arrived at Yellow Rose Dressage in October of 2022 with the hopes of following in the footsteps of his father and two grandfathers: Kentchurch Chime and Blaengwen Dafydd-y-Gwas. Both his father and grandfathers excelled in performance. From combined driving to Welsh shows to upper-level dressage, all three stallions were wonderful ambassadors for the breed. Danny is just starting his journey, but I am excited to see how far he will go in his career.
Danny’s first day at Yellow Rose Dressage. He is learning the ropes from Grandpa Jade. Jade (Gayfields Sleightly Jaded) is a 12.2 hand section A gelding. Born in 1991, Jade is still going strong and being a very useful mentor to the young stallion.

As a two-year-old, he is now learning that it is O.K. to carry a rider. Sarah Winger, who grew up helping me start ponies at Madoc, is now helping me with Danny.
Danny at his first Welsh Show where he earned a Reserve Supreme Champion ribbon from one of the judges!!
Danny went to the Great Southwest Equestrian Center for the HDS Laborious Day Dressasge Show. He got to hang out with his barn mates, get braided, lunged and walked around the showgrounds. He is getting to see what the horse show routine is all about!! Aug. 2024
Danny is now three years old and growing in to a beautiful young Cob stallion. He is green broke and can walk, trot, and canter under saddle. He will be starting to go out and about this spring and summer. This fall he will learn to be collected and semen will be available for purchase for the 2026 breeding season.
